I really want to have laser hair removal on my underarms and bikini but I'm scared to do it because my friend in Austin has been having it done to her legs and she still has hair after 7 treatments. They told her it would only take 6 treatments. Does it really work and is it worth my time and money?

ReplyDeleteYes, laser hair removal really works! You usually need a minimum of 6 treatments but it can take up to 12 treatments. The number of treatments needed depend on (1) the uniqueness of your body and your hair, like the hair volume, hair color, hair growth rate, your skin color, and other factors about you; and also on (2) the type and quality of the laser itself. (3) Your results are also highly dependent upon the skill and experience of the person performing the laser hair removal treatment.
To answer your second question, yes, your investment of both time and money is worth it IF you seek your treatments in a facility that meets the following criteria.
(1) the office is a medical office with a physician or advanced practice nurse on site;
(2) the staff knows your medical history and has assessed you;
(3) the staff has provided you with education about how laser hair removal works, why you should keep your return appointments at the recommended time periods, and things you should avoid while undergoing treatments;
(4) the facility uses newer laser technology;
(5) the practitioner performing your treatment is experienced and knowledgeable; and
(6) you feel comfortable at the facility.
